Project Case: BAOCHANG Power Plant in ShenZhen

BAOCHANG Power Plant is a 360MW natural gas power station jointly developed by AG and NSRD (Shenzhen Nanshan Thermal Power Co., Ltd.), located in Shenzhen, China, designed to provide quick start-up capabilities to support the integration of renewable energy.

The power station is capable of providing energy security during peak demand periods and has the ability to start and stop multiple times a day.

• Technical Features: The power station will be equipped with two GE 109E gas turbines, which are characterized by lightweight design, small footprint, and rapid response rates. These gas turbines can achieve full power output within 5 minutes, which is crucial for balancing the variability of renewable energy production and providing grid stability.
• Environmental and Energy Benefits: From day one, the power station is capable of using a fuel mixture of up to 35% renewable hydrogen with natural gas, and there is a pathway to achieve 100% hydrogen operation over time.
